Charity Bolivia is a U.S. based 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization dedicated to decreasing poverty through increased education in Bolivia, S. A. The organization currently sponsors a Post-Secondary Education program aimed at students from Colonia Ecologica.

 

While living and working in Cochabamba, Bolivia, Wendell and Carlye Krohn became involved with Colonia Ecologica, thanks to some friends from England and Holland. Wendell and Carlye started spending time there and immediately felt the warmth of the Colonia family. Wendell spent afternoons helping students with homework, reading to the younger kids, working on projects and playing! Carlye taught at an international school during the day and brought high school students to Colonia as a volunteer program. She also taught an English class to some of the older students at Colonia. The time Wendell and Carlye spent at Colonia was the most meaningful experience they had in the two years they lived in Bolivia.

 

Carlye received a B. A. and MAT from Pacific University. She taught 7th grade English for four years in the U.S. and 9th and 10th grade for two years Cochabamba. She is now the President and Director of Charity Bolivia and a stay at home Mom to her 15 month old son, Emmet.

Wendell received a B. S. from Pacific University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He currently works in the Information Technology field and is the Secretary and a Director of Charity Bolivia. Volunteering with the kids at Colonia and becoming a part of their family continues to be life changing.

 

 

 

There are often needs beyond the monthly tuition and living expenses for the university students. Below are the current needs that are unmet. Please specify if you'd like to contribute to these in the comment section of the donation page.

• Medical - Dario's cochlear implant needs updated.
